Competitions – Photography and Short video

“Unexplored Places of Mysuru”

District Tourism Development Committee of Mysuru invites entries to  Explore Mysuru District.

Mysuru: A realm of majestic palaces, thriving wildlife sanctuaries, and vibrant local craftsmanship, immersing yourself in regal history, lush biodiversity, and authentic local experiences that make the city truly exceptional.

Embrace this exceptional challenge to craft a collective tourism identity for Mysuru and transform its global perception. We invite the community to share photos/ videos that unveil Mysuru’s iconic treasures and hidden gems (Places/Attractions) to the world. And who better to narrate Mysuru’s glories than the proud people of Karnataka themselves! Join hands to shape the future of Mysuru’s tourism narrative and let your creativity reign!

The Challenge

Short video/ Photography of “Unexplored Places / Hidden Gems” of Mysuru that encapsulates its essence and resonates with travelers from across the globe. The challenge is to create a curated tourism-focused campaign idea that unveils the hidden places of Mysuru to the world. The challenge is bilingual and entries can be submitted both in English and Kannada!

Theme

River front, nature and scenic beauty, food, festivals, waterfalls, adventure tourism, museum, folk and art, traditional sports, heritage building, heritage monument, religious tourism and others.

Your submission should capture the theme in either one, two or both of the following 2 competitions listed below:

  • P1 – Photography
    • 3 to 5 photos of a place
    • Description of Place in 200 words in word document format
    • JPEG & RAW Format with High Resolution
    • Participants must ensure original photos are submitted. Plagiarized submissions will result in disqualification.
    • The photo must not contain any provocative, objectionable, or inappropriate content.
    • The photo should be usable on digital media such as websites / social media like Facebook and Instagram, press releases, digital advertisements, etc as well as printed promotional material such as brochures, magazines, hoardings, leaflets, souvenirs, etc.
    • The Department of Tourism, Karnataka, and the District Tourism Development Committee of Mysuru will hold all rights for the images post submission.
  • P2 – Short Videos
    • Duration of Video 1 min with Audio/Narration/Good BGM (Newly composed BGM)
    • Description of Place in 200 words in word document format
    • Full HD Format – Both Landscape (1920 x 1080 ) and Portrait mode (1080 x 1920)
    • Generic non-copyrighted stock music may be used in the videos
    • The video must not contain any provocative, objectionable, or inappropriate content.
    • The video should be usable on digital media such as websites / social media like Facebook and Instagram, press releases, digital advertisements, etc.
    • The Department of Tourism, Karnataka, and the District Tourism Development Committee of Mysuru will hold all rights for the videos post submission.

Each package has a total cash prize worth of Rs 50,000/-

1st Prize – 25,000/-

2nd Prize – 15,000/-

3rd Prize – 10,000/-

 

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • The submission should be done on the given Google Form.
  • The Submission Files need to be uploaded onto a Google Drive Link / MEGA Folder with access permissions given. The Link needs to be shared in the above Submission Google Form
  • Each submission must include a brief explanation of 200 words.
  • Any form of identification such as names, nicknames, watermarks, or codes written anywhere on the files will lead to disqualification.
  • Submission to be done within 5th July 2024. Any entry beyond the deadline shall not be considered under any circumstance.
  • The Department of Tourism, Karnataka, and the District Tourism Development Committee of Mysuru will hold all rights for the images & videos post submission.
  • Individual can send Photos and Videos for up to diverse 4 locations. Each location needs to be a separate folder on the upload link.
